GPG Volunteers Visit Wheeling

GPG encourages all of it's volunteers to learn as much as they can about Greyhounds and form their own opinions through hands on experience. Since our fosters are primarily retired racers, they often have a long journey to MA before looking for furever homes. Normally our fosters come up in a haul, but this month a group of our volunteers decided to make the trip down to Wheeling West Virginia to pick up recently retired racers in Person! We took this opportunity to tour racing facilities that many of our fosters have spend time in during their careers. We also had a chance to talk to many of the people who care for the dogs, people who work with the dogs when they retire, as well as the kennel's Veterinarian! In the end we decided on four fosters who would make the trek back to MA to join the GPG family! Thank you to all the staff at the Wheeling track that went out of their way to share with us and for all the love and care they give to our retired racers during their careers!!! Welcome to Lime, Dial, Kiki, and Tosh!
